1 Piece, 3 Ways: The Black Tank Dress

Spring has officially sprung! Time to get your dresses, skirts, and shorts out of the back of the closet and show off those legs. While you’re there organizing your closet and making the shopping list for spring, add a bodycon tank dress to your list. It’s going to become your next obsession-- a tank dress is the perfect starting point for any outfit.

Tank dresses are super versatile and you can wear them for a bunch of different occasions. They are the perfect blank canvas to dress up, accessorize and layer over. Below, I've created looks using a black tank dress for 3 different occasions.

Brunch Look
Dress / Sneakers / Bag / Sunglasses / Bracelet / Necklace / Cardigan

Going to brunch with your girls? A tank dress in a basic color like black is definitely brunch-appropriate. Depending on where you’re going you can style it with a cardi, girly flat sandals and a crossbody bag. Better yet pair yours with white sneakers for a cool girl vibe! Complete the look by adding bracelets, your favorite shades, and a simple necklace. Put your hair up in a bun or wear a hat to hide a bad hair day. Apply pink lip gloss for a cute finishing touch!

Clubbing Look

Dress / Necklace / Clutch / Heels / Tights / Lipstick

For a fun night out, style your tank dress like this look! Give your dress an edgy feel by pairing it with black tights. We love fishnet tights, but a pair of black semi-sheer tights works, too. Slip on some black high heels, and accessorize with a statement necklace and embellished clutch. For this look, your accessories are the focal point. Finally, put on red lipstick to complete the look.

Date Look

Dress / Sandals / Jacket / Earrings / Nail Polish / Bag

If you’re going on a daytime date to a park for a picnic or a lunch date, a tank dress is a really great option. This type of dress is flirty, but also comfy. Wear a denim jacket over your dress or around your waist to take some attention off the tightness of the dress. A cardigan or even a vest works just as well since they are not as bulky as a denim jacket. Accessorize with tassel earrings, ghillie sandals, and a girly crossbody bag. Keep your look natural with a hint of pink lip gloss and light pink nails.

What about you? What's your favorite way to accessorize tank dresses?
